Oh, yeah. Way bad. Anima (the liquid that serves as "vampire blood") is extremely sensitive to heat. Candy explained way back in chapter 2 that the vampiric heart is made of a liquid fire contained within a hard bony shell. She poetically inferred to Hotaru that a vampire's heart can't stand the thought of anything burning hotter than itself so the heart will try to burn hotter--the idea being that this would cause the heart's energy source (its anima) to burn up more quickly or explode in the vampire's body. Fuuuun.
